What is Bowls’ Big Weekend?
Bowls’ Big Weekend is an annual national event, designed to introduce more people to the sport of bowls. The event takes place over May bank holiday weekend (23-26 May), during which bowls clubs across the country open their doors to the public, offering free taster sessions, to get more people playing our sport. It’s a fun, inclusive event that welcomes people of all ages and abilities to try the sport in a friendly, supportive environment. The initiative aims to promote bowls as a modern, accessible activity that brings communities together while encouraging new members to join local clubs.
This event is supported by Bowls England.
We are holding a dedicated session on Monday 26th May at 2pm.
Come along and have a go!
Everybody, whatever age and ability, is welcome to come to the Club and be introduced to the sport of bowling. You will be introduced to the game in a friendly and inclusive way, by the Club Members (we're a friendly bunch!). You do not need any previous experience. The basic requirements of the game are simple to grasp, but challenging to perfect. We have players all abilities enjoying the game and if you enjoy your session you will find warm welcome within the Club.
